THIS WEEK'S MEETING

October 29, 2026

This week's speaker is David McCaughey with KelCon Technologies, presenting on Cyber Security.

KelCon Technologies was founded in January of 2000.

KelCon was named after my two children, my oldest daughter Kelby and my son Connor.

Our business goal is to become the IT department for small to medium size buisnesses that do not have, and do not need, a full time computer technician on staff. We assist with day-to-day operations of the individual computers and the network. We also provide website and email hosting services.

With the advances in technology more and more of our customers want to stay connected with their businesses 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have met these demands by providing several different remote work place options for people to be able to work away from the office. We also have expertise and knowledge with a wide variety of smart phones, and can offer solutions for Blackberry, Treo and Windows Mobile phones.

We take great pride and a sense of ownership of all of the computer networks we manage. Our philosophy is to treat each customer’s network as if it was our own.

We immediately became a Microsoft Certified Partner and have been one the entire duration of KelCon’s existence. When Microsoft began offering the Small Business Specialist designation in 2006, we were one of the first companies in the metropolitan area to achieve the designation.

Rotary Book Discussion Group
I Am Madame X - by Gioia Diliberto (Paperback) : Target
Rotary Book Club

Date: Monday, November 9, 6:30 PM

Details: The Rotary Book Club will meet for the discussion of the book I Am Madame X by Gioia Siliberto.  The book is available at Rainy Day Books and all Rotarians and guests are welcome.

I Am Madame X tells the story of Virginie Amélie Avegno Gautreau, a strikingly beautiful American woman who became a sensation in Belle Époque Paris. Born in New Orleans and raised on a lush plantation, Virginie fled to France during the Civil War with her mother and sister, seeking social acceptance and leveraging her French heritage to enter high society. The novel centers on the creation and aftermath of Sargent’s 1884 portrait, Madame X, which shocked Parisian society due to Virginie’s provocative pose and attire. The painting caused a scandal that damaged Sargent’s career in Paris and made Virginie both infamous and fascinating. Diliberto imagines Virginie’s perspective, portraying her as a complex, ambitious, and self-aware woman, navigating societal expectations, gossip, and her own desires.
