We have received a notice from Larry Lunsford, our Rotary International President-nominee, about Shoes for Orphan Souls project for 2026. This is our 25th year anniversary of benefiting orphan and vulnerable children by collecting new shoes. Larry’s goal for this year for the District is 25,000 pairs of shoes. Larry will ask our partner in Dallas, Buckner International, to find a corporate match of another 25,000 pairs of shoes.
In 2025 Club 13 focused on collecting funds. We purchased 41 pairs of shoes but collected $815 which was sent to Buckner International. We already have more than 41 pairs of shoes purchased, and we are looking to collect more than $815 for 2026.
We will make our first ask at our meeting on March 5th. We will have shoes on the table for cash donations. Checks can be made out to The Kansas City Club foundation, and Mandy will have the ability to take credit card payments.
